Wi-Fi Alliance announced that single-stream access point devices are eligible for Wi-Fi certification. Testing can be performed at any Authorized Test Lab which has been qualified to perform Wi-Fi CERTIFIED n testing.

On 21 October 2009, the European Council adopted a revision of the EuP Directive (called "ErP Directive"). Modifications were made to the Directive in order to extend its scope. As a result, the Directive will now focus not only on ¡§energy-using products¡¨ but will be extended to include all ¡§energy-related products¡¨. Besides a wider scope, there is not much difference between these two directives.
