Ministry of Economic Affairs revised Regulations Governing Registration of Product Certification

Taiwan Ministry of Economic Affairs announced Amendment of Regulations Governing Registration of Product Certification on 3 February 2010. The article 4, 7, 9, 11 are revised in this amendment, while article 4-1, 7-1 are added in. Among these, Bureau Veritas ADT reminds key messages of amendment as below, and please be aware that item no.2 will impact on most of the vendors (Article 4-1): 1.In order to be coordinated with e-government policy, applicants need to submit an online copy of personal identification documents from government publicity data. In addition, this regulation adds the requirements that if the type-test report does not meet verification standard for Registered Commodities in practice, it cannot be submitted as a technical document when applying. (Article 4) 2.In order to make the type of granted Registered Commodities has unique identification so that consumers and Market supervision executives can distinguish more easily, this regulation adds the requirements that it is not allowed to repeat applying for the registration of product certification if the products are belong to the same type. In addition, there most be a connection between product model and registration type (Article 4-1) 3.In order to make sure that whether those Commodities that have been granted Registration of Product Certification further produced by vendors (applicants) are in accordance with the original technical regulations or certification standard or not, the document adds the requirement that Commodities may need Customs/border inspection in order to meet BSMI¡¦S requirements for risk management. (Article 7 and 7-1) 4.In order to avoid that the registration certificates are embezzled, the registration certificates shall be cancelled if the nominal holder of the certificate cannot afford the obligation or exercise their right for company registration, the revocation of business registration and being out of business.
