abstract: News Gathering and Mobile TV Broadcasting System via WiMAX
(Continued) Mr. Sidney Liu, CTV (China Television Company),
was invited to address on the topic above to demonstrate the infrastructure
and development of eSNG (Satellite News Gathering) at his company.
CTV is a leading broadcaster involved in new WiMAX application on
eSNG and WiTV (Wireless TV). They have had great achievements in network
infrastructure and eSNG last year and this year they will continue
to develop mobile eSNG and WiTV. With comparison to traditional SNG,
eSNG via WiMAX has several advantages: (1) Cost saving (no satellite
bandwidth fee, no satellite transmission equipment, less payload),
(2) Easy setup and (3) Better mobility. Nevertheless, there are still
some challenges on compression technologies, network stability and
coverage; they are seeking cooperation with other operators and WiMAX
vendors to fix it. top |
