Security requirements related to WPA2-Enterprise Device Certification are going into effect on July 1, 2008

The Wi-Fi Alliance recently updated security requirements related to WPA2-Enterprise Device Certification which go into effect on July 1 2008. This is in support of an updated WPA2-Enterprise Device Certification Policy that recently took effect.
The following is a list of the devices that must be certified WPA2-Enterprise:
- External Wi-Fi Card
- Internal Wi-Fi Card
 - Ultra-Mobile PC
- Notebook Computer
- PDA
 - Smartphone – Dual-Mode
- Smartphone – Single-Mode
 - Enterprise Access Point, Switch/Controller, Gateway or Router more info on the definition of product categories
Devices that do not fall in the above product categories are required to obtain WPA2-Personal certification at a minimum, but are strongly encouraged to seek WPA2-Enterprise certification. more info on WPA2-Enterprise benefits

The implementation date for this new policy will be July 1, 2008, 12:01 AM Central Time (i.e., Austin Texas time). Any certification tests on or after this date will be required to follow this new policy.

2008 WiMAX Expo was taking place on June 2nd-6th in Taipei with 60 domestic and overseas exhibitors showcasing their products, application or services. Bureau Veritas ADT not only demonstrated our testing capability and facilities but also gave an address about WiMAX testing during the exhibition.
According to the opening address by President and Chairman of the WiMAX Forum, there will be around 133 million subscribers of WiMAX services around the world in 2012, with 60 million in Asia and 22 million in North America.
