Bureau Veritas ADT Developed Official WiMAX Radiated Performance Tests (RPT) Chamber

Bureau Veritas ADT developed WiMAX RPT chamber according to WiMAX RPT testing standard and provided this testing service since September 2008. RPT includes the transmit and receive performance aspects of WiMAX Subscriber and Mobile Stations in a radiated test configuration. These tests are used to evaluate the radiated performance of devices that utilize WiMAX air interface profile.

Explanation of WiMAX Forum certification profile: "Profile" v.s. "Wave 1 or Wave 2"

In WiMAX Forum's certification test, we use a "profile" to indicate a specific WiMAX product which operates at certain Frequency, Channel Bandwidth and Duplex Mode, instead of the term "wave1" or "wave2". The term of wave1 or wave 2 certification test has been removed at the beginning of 2008. The following list are some profiles which have been defined by WiMAX Forum. For the detail certification test items, WiMAX Forum also induces a concept of Certification Requirement Status List (CRSL) from Dec. 2007, and all certification tests should follow the latest CRSL version to perform the certification test.

As a WFDCL (also qualified for WCB and WFDVL), Bureau Veritas ADT participates in WiMAX events actively and will have a booth there to demonstrate our solutions how we can help vendors to certify their WiMAX products. Welcome to attend this great event and visit our booth.

Thailand developing WiMAX legislation

Thailand's National Telecommunication's Commission (NTC) is developing the country's WiMAX legislation and licensing terms, and should be ready to issue licenses next year.

The NTC has advised that the country shall likely adopt the 2.5GHz range, because preliminary testing results have revealed that the 3.5GHz range interferes with satellite transmissions.
