Bureau
Veritas ADT assists many global NB computer brand vendors to complete
WiMAX Forum logo certifications
As more WiMAX
Networks are deployed, the requirement of the WiMAX end product
is also increased. To satisfy the demand of the market, many NB
(Notebook) computer brand vendors have started to integrate Intel
mobile WiMAX module in their laptop product to support WiMAX function.
Recently, Bureau
Veritas ADT received many requests from the major NB brand vendor¡¦s
certification projects. All these NB brand vendors integrate Intel¡¦s
WiMAX module to develop the ¡§WiMAX¡¨ laptop. Till now, Bureau Veritas
ADT already helped several NB brand vendors to get the WiMAX certificate
for their laptops. We got great admiration from the NB brand vendor
of this achievement. Some projects are still under certification
process, we hope to certify more laptops in the near future.

Requirements
for end products with CCC-regulated key components
China Quality
Certification Centre¡]CQC¡^restates the CCC certification requirements
for end products with CCC-regulated key components to prevent that
the certification body can not complete the assessment on schedule.
CCC-regulated
key components
- Cord set
(or plug power cord)
- Socket-outlets
for appliances
- Fuses
- Temperature
limit fuses
Requirements
- When applying
both CCC and CB, it is not allowed to violate CCC requirements
because both have different certification requirements for key
components. In general, only manufacturers of the key components
are shown in a CB report but the CCC report is required to show
the factories (i.e. ODMs/OEMs) additionally.
- When applicants
submit an end product certification application, they have to
provide effective certificates and reports of their key components
from different ODMs/OEMs for certification body's assessment.
The testing organization has to state each key component's CCC
certificate number in the end product's CCC report.
- If the applicant
can not provide CCC certificates and reports for the backup key
components from their ODMs/OEMs, the testing organization has
to ask the applicant to provide samples for random testing. The
testing data shall be shown in the report. Otherwise, the ODM/OEM's
key components can not be shown in the report.

Effective immediately,
ENERGY STAR computer partners may access the new OPS module for
Version 5.0 and commence submittal of products to EPA for review
against the new Version 5.0 requirements. Products qualified under
Version 4.0 remain in the system for further edits should partners
wish to resubmit for 5.0 qualification; new fields for 5.0 will
automatically appear in the product entry when partners select the
"edit" feature next to the product in the OPS list. All current
4.0 products intended for continued qualification after the July
1 effective date must be updated accordingly to seek qualification;
products that are not updated will not appear on the Version 5.0
qualified product list.

Green
Regulation Introduction Seminar: EuP, Energy &REACH
Regional Green
Regulations have become a powerful policy tool these years. They
establish a new trade barrier and raise the pressure on vendor's
operation. The semina will demonstrate EU's EuP and REACH Directives
as well as energy consumption requirements of some countries. We
expect help vendors comply with regulations and market their products
over the word faster through the seminar.
