REMINDER¡GCRSL MR 6 - Last Day to Start Certification Testing is 31th July 2009
WiMAX Forum Certification Working Group has a reminder - the last day to start your initial Certification on products under Magor Release (MR 6) is 31th July 2009. If your Certification starts after 31th July 2009, you will be evaluated against MR 7.
Those products started under MR 6 have 45 days to complete the Certification process. The termination date for MR 6 is 15th September 2009.

WiMAX 2.3GHz Profiles-Validation and Certification are about to Begin
In July San Francisco CWG/TWG F2F meeting, the decision for 2.3GHz was taken to begin the Validation Activity immediately. The slides can be found at here. Bureau Veritas ADT is working closely with the TEV & IUT Vendors for this Validation program. The target to begin Certification Testing is in Oct 2009

CCC New Regulations will be in Force from September 1st 2009
New Regulations of China Compulsory Certification (CCC) will be in force from September 1st 2009. The New Regulation indicates that the expiry time of CCC issued by CNCA (Certification and Accreditation Administration of the People’s Republic of China) will be reset from no limit to 5 years. Once the CCC is about to be expired and needs to be continuously used, the Certification agency has to apply for the renewal of certificate 90 days before the expiry date.

Updated China EMC Standards for ITE will be Brought into Force from September
For the propose of ensuring the Compulsory Product Certification System has been well-implemented, CNCA recently released the updated rules for implementing compulsory certification of Information Technology Equipment, Telecommunication Terminal Equipment and Wireless Devices, which was based on the relevant regulations of "Notification of Compulsory Product Certification relevant issues with regards of standard modification." New Regulation for R&TTE in Bosnia & Herzegovina will be in Forced as of July 15th, 2009
Bosnia and Herzegovina has finally adopted the new Rule (number 46/2009) on radio equipment that can be used without individual licenses for devices issued by the communications regulatory agency (CRA). The new rule will be in forced as of the July 15th, 2009. It revokes the Decision which stipulated that short range devices needed type approvals. Conditions from the Law on Communications refer to essential requirements in RF, EMC and Safety standards, which is identical to the EC R&TTE Directive 99/05. Under this new regulation, product imported to Bosnia & Herzegovina must comply against the Harmonized standards and the CE marking will be affixed as per EU regulation. Read More

VCCI Published Advanced Notice of Enforcement of New Limits for Conformity Verification Reporting
In order to avoid any misunderstanding, VCCI noted in the current official announcement that the previous notice “Enforcement of limits of conducted disturbance at the telecommunication ports is from 1st April 2010, and enforcement of EMI measurement above 1GHz is from 1st October 2010.” given in V-3/2009.04 Technical Requirements will actually be enforced as stated.
VCCI emphasized that members are required to measure their ITE against the given limit for conformity verification report to be filed to VCCI on and after, not before, the given date per category. Also the limit will be inapplicable to products already filed to VCCI and distributed in the market before the enforcement date per category. Read More

Moving to Green Business- BV ADT Assists AOpen with EuP Conformity Assessment
With the professional technology and methods, Bureau Veritas ADT recently has been assisting many vendors with their EuP compliance certification for the preparing of Green Requirement. Bureau Veritas ADThas already helped the Taiwanese leading component manufacturer, AOpen, to complete its compliance assessment report. On 15th July, the president of BV ADT Taiwan, Tarik Mahammed, awarded the certificate to the president of AOpen, Bernie Tsai. This certificate not only represents AOpen’s product, FUTRO S100 Mini PC with High-Definition Audio Video features, has complied with the EuP Directive, but that AOpen, a sustainable business, is an active participant in the worldwide effort to be committed to protecting the environment and continuous improvement of itself. DOE Issues Energy Standards Framework for Battery
Chargers, Power Supplies
The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has issued a ‘Framework’ document for the future development of energy conservation standards for battery chargers and Class A external power supplies.
Issued in May, the Framework “describes the procedural and analytical approaches that DOE anticipates using to evaluate energy conservation standards for BCs (battery chargers) and ESPs (external power supplies).”
The DOE says that it hopes the issuance of the Framework will facilitate input from manufacturers and other parties interested in the regulatory development process for these products.
In addition, the DOE has also released a draft technical report that describes the Department’s past analysis on battery charges and external power supplies.

ENERGYSTAR Program Requirements for Televisions Version 4.0 / 5.0 (Draft 2)
The information from Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) of ENERGYSTAR website is as below,
The requirements previously identified as Version 3.1 Tiers 2 and 3 will now be referred to as Versions 4.0 and 5.0. This document outlines the proposed new energy efficiency requirements that TVs would need to meet in order to earn the ENERGY STAR. It is intended that once final, this document will replace the current Version 3.0 specification.
The proposed effective date for the Version 4.0 requirements in this specification is May 1, 2010. The proposed effective date for the Version 5.0 requirements is May 1, 2012.
