Wi-Fi Alliance test requirements update

Ħi802.11n TestĦj
(1) Old MIMO tests of 802.11n Draft2.0 (also apply for final 802.11n MIMO too)
ĦEOne & Two Spatial Streams - Mandatory
Test initial 11n devices were 2 Tx and 2 Rx (2 x 2)
ĦERx A-MSDU - Mandatory
Test the length of an A-MSDU can range between 4k and 8k bytes.
ĦERx A-MPDU - Mandatory
Test all frames within an A-MPDU are sent sequentially and all frames are acknowledged with one Block Acknowledge frame from the receiver.
ĦE20/40 MHz operation in 5 GHz band - Mandatory in 5GHz
Test ability to combine two adjacent 20 MHz channels into one 40 MHz channel.(Upper or lower channels)
ĦERIFS (Reduced Inter Frame Spacing) - Mandatory
RIFS (Reduced Inter Frame Spacing) major increases throughput by about 2%. Test ability to receive RIFS spaced frames with Video streams
ĦESGI – Short Guard Interval - Optional
Change the Symbol Guard Interval by ½ to test.
ĦEGreenfield - Optional
Test Greenfield headers are used.
ĦEHT Duplicate Mode - Optional
Test ability to used MCS=32 as leads to better error rate performance.

(2) Feature added new MIMO tests
ĦESTBC – Optional
Test of device’s ability of enabling STBC to reduce PER in HT mode when operates in 1x1, 2x2 or 3x3
ĦETransmitter A-MPDU Aggregation - Optional
Test the ability of transmitting A-MPDU from AP and STA.
ĦE20/40 MHz Coexistence in 2.4GHz band - Optional in 2.4GHz
Test the ability of combining two adjacent 20 MHz channels into one 40 MHz channel in 2.4GHz band.
ĦE3 Spatial Streams - Optional
Test of 11n devices’ ability which can deliver 3 x 3 capabilities with 3 transmitters and 3 receivers to increase the raw data rate.
ĦEDisallow TKIP with HT Rate - Mandatory
Ensure that the Device does not use HT rates when using TKIP as the encryption cypher.

ĦiWPA2 and 802.11n Draft2.0 TestĦj
Wi-Fi Alliance adds EAP-FAST (Flexible Authentication via Secure Tunneling) and EAP-AKA (Authentication and Key Agreement) to WPA2 and 11n Draft 2.0 certifications.

ĦiWPS TestĦj
The Ralink RT2800PDAP AP running SW version 1.1.8.0 will replace the Conexant Solos AP in tests 5.1.6 and 5.1.8. For the next 90 days, until November 10, 2009, either AP could be used in these tests. After November 10, 2009, the Ralink will be the only AP used in these tests. The Conexant AP will no longer be used in the WPS test bed.
