industry. It took over these responsibilities from AUSTEL on
1 July 1997. Its major functions in relation to the telecommunications
industry are:administration of the new telecommunications access
regime; andregulation of anti-competitive conduct. It's also
responsible for general consumer protection and competition
regulation across all industries |
DCITA

DCITA provides advice on all regulatory policy
aspects of the telecommunications, radiocommunications and postal
sectors. It also provides advice on legislative and administrative
arrangements for Telstra and Australia Post. |
ABA

ABA is the broadcasting regulator for radio and
television in Australia. Its focus is on the content of broadcasts,
in contrast to the ACA’s focus on the carriage of broadcasts. |
